Windows Defender Installation

Looking for a good FREE way to keep spyware off of your computer?

Well Microsoft has a product called Windows Defender. It protects you from pop-ups, spyware/adware and other unwanted programs. It's not hard to install and works like a charm. Give it a try for yourself. I've created a short video that demonstrates how easy it is to install.

( OOPS! Guess I forgot to let you know this program doesn't work on anything older than Windows 2000. Windows 98/ME users this will not work on your computer. Click the link to see the system requirements: Windows Defender System Requirements )

If your like me you really like playing with Google Earth.  You know the cool satellite map program. Well NASA is jumping into the game. They have recently release their own Earth Viewing program and it is BIG FUN. I do believe my new favorite is World Wind. I will warn you, World Wind is so totally easy and fun to use that you'll be unable to tear yourself away from it. Check it out for yourself, but I warned you :)

Amazing Illusions

Stare at the black dot for a minute (the longer the better), and watch the colored 'fluff'  Amazing Illusions. I love these types of pictures. Click on some of the other things posted there.

One of the great things about having a broadband connection, whether it's Fixed Wireless, DSL or Cable, is downloading music.  I know downloading music is supposedly *EVIL* but there really are great ways to get music that is perfectly legal. iTunes is the first one that always pops up. But there's other ways to find legal music online. I'm currently listening to High & Mighty the new album from Gov't Mule.  Which I'm downloading in MP3 format. They also made it available in FLAC a Free Lossless audio format. Normally I would have bought the FLAC version which will have superior sound quality. But, I figured I have the CD coming so I don't need that, I just want it NOW!

Not only are they making the new studio album they also have there live shows available for purchase on their Mule Tracks site. More and more bands are realizing the way to be  successful is to reach out to the fans where they are. With so many people getting their entertainment on the Internet there is no reason not to make your work available via download or streams.

Support your favorite artists by visiting their web sites and seeing what they have to offer. You'll be surprised what you'll find.

Testing Windows Live Writer (Beta)

Microsoft recently released Windows Live Writer. This application makes creating interesting and polished looking posts.  One of the tools I found interesting was the "Insert Map" tool. The following is an example of what the tool can do.  You have the choice of either displaying a map or and aerial shot of the location you choose. I chose aerial. Then all I had to do was right click the photo and enter some information about the aerial shot. Pretty Neat.

Here's what the map looks like.

Well it's not perfect, but it could be a lot of fun. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
